Building software, one person at a time
Apotentia is currently a one-person operation. As we grow and generate revenue, we'll expand the team with talented engineers who share our vision for ethical software.
Eric Santiago
Eric founded Apotentia with a simple mission: build software that helps people rather than exploits them. As a US Army veteran and lifelong tinkerer, he brings a practical, mission-focused approach to software development.
Background
- US Army veteran (disabled)
- Corporate Solutions Architect at Nextpoint Group LLC (Chantilly, VA)
- 20 years of experience as government developer (most work classified/non-public)
- Self-taught developer and tinkerer
- Passionate about ethical technology
- Advocate for open source software
- GitHub: @esantiagogogo (limited public history due to government work)
Current Focus
Eric is currently:
- Building Gecker social platform
- Developing Joomla plugins (APO Thematic, APO Openings, APO Course Roads)
- Self-funding development from personal savings
- Leveraging AI tools to accelerate development
- Planning for sustainable growth through high-yield savings strategy
Philosophy
Eric believes in building slowly and sustainably. Rather than chasing venture capital or rapid growth, Apotentia focuses on creating real value first. The goal is to build a savings fund that generates enough passive income to support development costs, allowing the company to remain independent and user-focused.
"The objective of Web technology should be to empower all people, not extract wealth from them. That's not idealism in my opinion... it's what I believe good software to be all about."
